Are you looking forward to engaging in transactions between Osmosis and C4E? Search no more, let us explore a straightforward guide that will aid you in understanding and performing these activities with ease. First of all, let us understand what a Blockchain Communication Protocol is all about.

What is IBC?

IBC, or Inter-Blockchain Communication, is a protocol that allows two unique blockchains to transfer tokens and other data to one another. They are designed for interoperability between chains in the Cosmos ecosystem, enabling them to communicate seamlessly and securely.

How to Perform IBC Transactions from C4E to Osmosis ?

Sending assets from Osmosis to C4E, you will be required to initiate an IBC transfer from Osmosis to C4E, following these steps:

Step 1: Turn on the developer mode on your keplr wallet — Settings >> Advanced >> Developer mode

Step 2: Navigate below your wallet then enter “Advanced IBC transfer “and select C4E

Step 3: In “Destination chain” add new IBC CHANNEL then.

  • Select “Osmosis” as the destination chain, and “Channel ID” — input “1”
  • Then save the configuration
  • Wallet Address — Tap on the human-like figure at the right side of the portal
  • Select “My account” and select your Osmosis address. And hit Next
  • Select C4E (Which is on osmosis chain)

Step 4: Input an amount, then confirm the transaction

If successful, you will see your C4E tokens as IBC on osmosis like this 👇

What About Transacting from Osmosis to C4E?

The process is similar, just reversed.

  • Make sure to start on the C4E network interface within your Keplr wallet.
  • Navigate to Advanced IBC transfer ( Ensure your developer mode is turned on)
  • For Destination chain, select Chain4energy, channel ID is 22172
  • Then save the configuration.
  • Input your C4E address on the “wallet address portal” and Hit Next.
  • Input amount and confirm the transaction.

Are There Any Risks or Considerations?

Certainly, there are a few considerations to keep in mind when conducting these transactions:

  • Transaction Delays: Sometimes, due to network congestion or maintenance, transactions may be delayed. Monitor the network status through tools like Mintscan.
  • Channel Health: Always check the current health and activity of the IBC channel you plan to use to avoid using a congested or inactive channel.
  • Security Practices: Ensure your wallet and recovery phrases are secure and never shared with anyone.

Why Use IBC for Transactions?

See as IBC empowers users with flexibility and control over their assets across different blockchain ecosystems, allowing for:

  • Enhanced Liquidity: Access to multiple chains increases opportunities for trading and liquidity.
  • Decentralized Trading: Execute trades without relying on centralized exchanges.
  • Broad Participation: Engage with various decentralized applications (dApps) and governance models across the Cosmos ecosystem.

Conclusion

IBC transactions between Osmosis and the C4E network exemplify the power of the Cosmos ecosystem’s interoperability. Whether you’re trading tokens, participating in governance, or exploring new dApps, mastering these transfers can significantly enhance your blockchain experience. Always stay updated on the latest developments and ensure your operations align with the best security practices to make the most out of your interchain activities.
